The Library organized a cheerful and engaging Reading Promotion Week Programme from 13th -22nd January, 2026 with the aim of developing a love for reading and encouraging good reading habits among children and young readers. The week was filled with fun, creativity, and learning, making books come alive through various interactive activities. Several interesting activities were conducted during the programme, such as

Scrap Book Preparation

The Scrap Book Preparation activity encouraged children to creatively present their favorite stories, characters, and ideas using drawings, pictures, and colorful materials. This activity helped children express their thoughts in a fun way while improving their understanding of the stories they read. It also boosted creativity and made reading a more enjoyable experience.

Online Book Review

The Online Book Review activity gave children an opportunity to share their opinions about the books they read. Participants spoke about the story, characters, and what they learned from the book. This activity helped improve reading comprehension, critical thinking, and confidence in expressing ideas, while also encouraging children to explore more books.

Book Jacket Cover Making

In the Book Jacket Cover Making activity, children designed attractive and imaginative covers for their favorite books. They used colors, drawings, and creative ideas to represent the theme of the story. This activity helped children connect with books creatively and understand the importance of visual presentation in attracting readers.

Storytelling

The Storytelling sessions were lively and engaging, capturing the attention of children through expressive narration and voice modulation. Stories were shared in an interactive manner, encouraging children to listen carefully and participate actively. This activity helped develop imagination, listening skills, and a love for stories.

Story Reading

The Story Reading activity provided children with an opportunity to read stories aloud in a calm and friendly environment. It helped improve reading fluency, pronunciation, and confidence. The session encouraged children to enjoy reading together and develop a habit of regular reading.

The Reading Promotion Week received enthusiastic participation from children, who actively took part in all activities with great excitement.
